Strider is a piano-led solo album shaped deliberately in the studio, built around electronic textures and patient songwriting. The tracks sit with frustration, persistence, and quiet resolve, tracing the emotional space between movement and stillness.
Written and recorded with an emphasis on craft over spontaneity, Strider is a headphone record — intimate, measured, and attentive to detail — inviting close listening.
Strider arrives March 6, 2026.

ARTIST BIO — SHORT
Andrew North is a New England–based songwriter and pianist whose work balances careful craft with emotional restraint. Known for piano-led songs shaped by electronic texture, North approaches recording as a space for patience and refinement rather than spectacle. His new solo album Strider arrives March 6, 2026.
ARTIST BIO — LONG
Andrew North is an indie songwriter whose music is shaped by patience, restraint, and an uncommon attention to craft. Anchored by piano-led arrangements, drum machines, and electronic textures, his songs resist urgency in favor of depth, inviting listeners to slow down and engage fully.
North’s musical life has always existed in two parallel modes. On one side is spontaneity: the energy of live performance, improvisation, and collaboration, as explored with his band, Andrew North & The Rangers. On the other is a quieter, more solitary practice — writing and revising songs alone, sometimes over years, until they arrive at an interesting and complete-feeling place. It becomes less about capturing a moment and more about shaping something to be lived with.
That tension between raw inspiration and considered craft sits at the center of Strider, his most deliberate solo album to date. Where much of his previous work embraced immediacy and live exploration, Strider was built slowly in his basement studio, in the early hours before work and the late hours after the kids are in bed, with each track refined through careful listening and revision. The result is a record designed as a headphone album — inward, measured, and immersive.
The songs on Strider move through themes of exhaustion, faith, work, identity, and quiet resistance, often observing rather than declaring. North isn’t interested in answers so much as presence: what it feels like to keep moving forward under pressure, to question the systems that shape us, and to find meaning in the act of making itself.
Recorded and produced independently, Strider reflects a belief that craft can be a form of honesty — and that sometimes the most radical thing an artist can do is take their time. Strider will be released independently on bandcamp and streaming on March 6, 2026.
